The Role
The Event Manager is responsible for operational management of Weddings and Events. This involves leading and developing an events team that deliver exceptional customer service and event execution.
Job Description
Long Point Vineyard is looking for an energetic person who works well in a team to coordinate and run Weddings, Concerts and Social Events. This is a casual position averaging between 10-20 hours per week which offers a flexible schedule, while requiring availability on weekends and evenings during events.
Marketing
- Managing Facebook and Instagram
- Advertising in Discovery Magazine, Port Macquarie Taste Trails Brochure and anywhere else appropriate
- Updating cellar door/hotels flyer
- Managing ADTW listing/s
- Local media advertising and editorial as appropriate
- Development of any new advertising content including photographs
- Website maintenance
- Promotion of art gallery exhibitions on website and social media
- Searching for new marketing opportunities and filtering offers
Events
- Promoting the vineyard as a wedding and events venue, including social media, online websites, wedding expos and printed advertising as appropriate
- Maintenance of Digital Wedding Brochure
- Attending local events such as ‘Tastings on the Hastings’ to sell Long Point products
- Liaising with clients to plan weddings and other events (birthdays, baby showers, hens’ nights, Christmas parties, charity functions, paint & sips etc)
- Setting up/packing up and managing weddings and events to ensure their smooth running
- Creating events as appropriate
- Booking talent and organising/running concerts for up to 600 attendees
- Submitting Development Applications for concerts with council for ticketed events
- Managing large group wine tour bookings
- Staff recruitment and rostering
- Invoicing and reconciliation of Income/Expenditure
- Stock orders for events in conjunction with Operations Manager
- Maintenance of marquees, toilets and skip bins in relation to events
- Liaison with grounds keeper in relation to events
- Maintaining Liqueur Licence and Alcohol Management Plan in relation to events
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous events or wedding coordinator experience (preferred)
- Current RSA
- A great eye for the finest details
- Exceptional drive and determination to deliver a memorable client experience
- Strong organisational skills and a professional manner
- Excellent oral and written communication and administration skills
