The Henschke winemaking tradition spans six generations, from vineyards in the Eden Valley, Barossa Valley and Adelaide Hills. 

 MACHINERY OPERATOR

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our Lenswood Vineyard team in the Adelaide Hills. We are seeking an experienced full-time Machinery Operator. Candidates must have expertise across all vineyard operations, whilst working in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

Reporting to the Lenswood Vineyard Manager, the role and responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • The operation of tractors, forklifts, front end loaders, crawlers, other heavy vehicles and vineyard equipment
  • Spraying, slashing, spreading, trimming, netting, post knocking and trenching
  • Install and maintain vineyard irrigation
  • Assist with specialised trellis work; identify, report and assist in the control of vine disorders and damage; seasonal experience in vine pruning, shoot thinning and canopy management
  • Rural plumbing and familiarity with workshop tools
  • Calibrate machinery and record spray applications
  • Other housekeeping and maintenance tasks from time to time as advised

Candidates must have experience working on rugged and steep terrain, with safety in mind. You will be highly motivated, reliable, capable, physically fit, have excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic, with the ability to work autonomously.

Licence and qualification requirements:

  • A valid drivers licence (a manual licence is preferred)
  • ChemCert certification and a forklift licence is highly desirable

A mechanical aptitude and qualifications in Viticulture/Horticulture would be advantageous.

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in a similar role.
