Dalness Estate Located in Evandale Tasmania (8 minutes from Launceston airport and 20 minutes from Launceston) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced full-time machinery operator who is ready for an elevated position. This role within the vineyard team will have the potential to move into an operations management role overtime. Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, this role is an integral part of a small Vineyard team, our viticulture focus is on producing premium cool climate grapes.

We are Seeking

A skilled operator to operate our Pellenc Optimum XL60 self-propelled sprayer and harvester across our 40ha of vineyards and external clients across northern Tasmania.

Ideally, you will be A team-orientated person, who communicates well, keeps a tidy workstation, and has thorough record keeping skills.  The ideal candidate will have experience operating and maintaining tractors and vineyard attachments including fungicide units, harvesters, under vine Herbicide sprayers, trimmers, cultivators, mulchers, and netting machines. Irrigation and trellis repair skills are advantageous.

Willingness to lead and supervise teams during seasonal tasks.

All About You

• You will have extensive experience in the agriculture, grape growing and wine industry
• A current driver’s license is a requirement
• Strong mechanical knowledge is highly regarded
• You will have experience in a wide variety of tasks in and around a vineyard
• Chem-cert or willingness to complete
• You are self-motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable with excellent organization and communication skills
• You are hardworking, proactive and work well in a small team environment
• You have the ability to work autonomously.
• You have a passion for the wine industry
• Forklift licence or willing to obtain
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime depending on seasonal requirements.
